Yar Slavutych (1918–2011) submitted poems here from the yet-to-be-published collection "Zhyvi smoloskypy" — "Ivasyuk", "Braty Horyni", "Svitlychnyi", "Karavanskyi" (it will be published as a separate book in 1983) — and the article "The Poetry of Ivan Svitlychnyi", written when Svitlychnyi himself (1929–1992) was serving exile in Altai. Ostap Tarnavskyi traced the path "From the Sixtiers to the Poets of Dissent", Mykola Stepanenko — the state of literary criticism in "post-Soviet" Ukraine after the Sixtiers, and Hryhorii Kostiuk included the poems "The Road to Kolyma" and "And the Collective Farmers Should Not Eat Bagels".

Alongside — Iryneia Veres's sonnets, which continue the cycle from the 6th and 8th issues, Apollinaire in Oleh Zuyevskyi's translation, prose by Ivan Bodnarchuk, Vasyl Hirnyi, Oleksa Izarskyi ("At Home in Munich"), Myron Levytskyi, Oleksandr Zozuli's play "Odrüzhennya". In the essays — two articles about Vynnychenko (Hryhorii Kostiuk, Ihor Kachurovskyi), Valerian Revutskyi's memoirs about the composer Lev Revutskyi, Marta Tarnavska's review of Ukrainian literary criticism bibliography, Stepan Tkachuk's "Ukrainian Literature in Romania" and Dmytro Chub's "The Past and Present of the Ukrainian Book".

The almanac was published by the Slovo Association of Ukrainian Writers, founded in New York in 1954 as the successor to MUR. This issue was published in Edmonton, printed by Toronto's Kiev Printers, and the publication was supported by the Government of Canada's Multiculturalism Program. The cover with a leaf in the letter "O" was created by Yakiv Hnizdovskyi (1915–1985); the same design of his is repeated on other issues of the series.
