It also features a group photograph of the participants of the First Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists in 1929.
Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN)
A Ukrainian political movement that aimed to establish an independent Ukrainian state. Founded in Vienna in 1929 through the merger of the Ukrainian Military Organization (UVO) and nationalist student groups. The ideological foundation of the movement was formed by the works of Dmytro Dontsov and the resolutions of the founding congresses led by Yevhen Konovalets. For decades, the OUN was the main driving force of the armed and political struggle for Ukraine’s sovereignty, both on its own soil and in exile.
