INFORMATION
The Sixth Great Gathering of Ukrainian Nationalists took place at the end of October 1965 "in one of the European cities" — even in the publication for its own, the city was not named. Only one year passed between the two gatherings: the Fifth Great Gathering of Ukrainian Nationalists was held without Andriy Melnyk (1890–1964), who was in the hospital, and on November 1, 1964, the head of the OUN passed away. The book records this turning point: the OUN program, approved by the Fifth Gathering, the new organization of the organization, adopted by the Sixth, the foundations of the Ukrainian Nationalist Movement, resolutions and decisions, an appeal to compatriots in Ukraine, a declaration to the free world, and a call to the OUN cadres.
The collection opens with speeches at the opening of both gatherings. General of the Army of the UNR Mykola Kapustiansky (1879–1969) commemorates Symon Petliura, Yevhen Konovalets, Mykola Stsiborsky, Oleh Olzhych, and Olena Teliha. Oleh Shtul-Zhdanovich (1917–1977) convened the Sixth Gathering as the first deputy of the late head, and at it he himself headed the OUN — the appeal to the people directly states that the helm has been passed to the younger generation. A separate section is formed by reports: Yaroslav Haivas "Remarks on Our Revolutionary Policy", O. Rohach "Problems of Modern Ukraine and the Tasks of the OUN", V. Hordynsky on the spiritual and cultural sector and the publishing area of the OUN.
The book was printed in the Parisian printing house P.I.U.F., which published the weekly "Ukrainske Slovo" — the organ of Melnyk's OUN, which Shtul edited from 1948 until his death. Internal party publications of this kind were published for membership, were unavailable in the Ukrainian SSR, and occur on the market infrequently.
