INFORMATION

The album presents the artist's major works—from early portraits and "The Bride" to monumental canvases of the 1920s–1930s and the Carpathian cycle—with an introductory article on the artist's creative path and a summary in foreign languages.

Fedir Hryhorovych Krychevsky (1879–1947) was a painter and educator, one of the founders and the first rector of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts (1917), and the author of the triptych "Life" and the paintings "The Bride", "Dovbush", and "The Defeaters of Wrangel". Brother of the architect and graphic artist Vasyl Krychevsky. After the war, he was accused of "collaborationism", expelled from the Union of Artists, and died in poverty in Irpin; his name only returned to circulation in the 1960s.

The author of the introductory article is art historian Liudmyla Chlenova, a researcher of Ukrainian painting from the late 19th to the first half of the 20th century, and the author of monographs on Oleksandr Murashko and Mykola Murashko.
