The publication has historical and cultural value and is of collector interest as a volume in a numbered series.

INFORMATION

"Chornyi Lis" was a journal printed by the insurgents of the Stanyslaviv region in forest hideouts in 1947–1950, when the UPA was already operating deep underground. This volume contains facsimile and typeset reprints of the 1947–1948 issues: orders, memoirs of fighters, poems, essays about battles with Bolshevik units, reports of the fallen, and holiday issues "Christ is Born!" with handmade illustrations. Among the authors are Marko Boyeslav, B. Podolyak, Sotnyk Chornota, and UPA doctor Berest.

This is the first edition of the volume; in 1987, "Litopys UPA" released a second, corrected edition. The journal "Chornyi Lis" is one of the few UPA underground publications that was issued in regular issues, so the reprint provides a rare opportunity to read it in its entirety.
