INFORMATION

The album showcases Vitold Manastyrsky's paintings — Carpathian landscapes with forests and mountain ranges, Hutsul scenes, portraits, still lifes. Landscape occupies a leading place in the selection: the artist returned to the same pastures and villages for years, and this is evident in the album as a sequence.

Vitold Manastyrsky (1915–1992) — a Lviv painter, son and pupil of Anton Manastyrsky, professor at the Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts. He belonged to the circle of artists who preserved the Galician painting tradition during the Soviet decades.

The "Artists of Ukraine" series by the Mystetstvo Publishing House was published throughout the 1970s–1980s and remains the main printed source of the work of many Ukrainian artists of that time.
