INFORMATION
The cover features a "Sugar Maple" — an ink drawing by Jacques Hnizdovsky, as stated on the back: "Jacket illustration: Sugar Maple. Ink drawing by Jacques Hnizdovsky". Trees were one of Hnizdovsky's main themes, and this is the image that made him known with his woodcuts.
Robert Zion is an American landscape architect, co-author of New York's Paley Park. The book is a practical guide for architects: winter and summer "portraits" of deciduous trees, photographed from a single point, sections on planting and care, data for design, and lists of trees by state. For Hnizdovsky collectors — a rare example of his book graphics for an American publisher.
