“Ukraine and Russia” is a thorough work by Mykhailo Demkovych-Dobryanskyi, dedicated to analyzing the complex relations between the two peoples through the prism of Russian imperialism. The author examines the genesis of Russian expansion, methods of combating it, and the contribution of Ukrainians to the development of Russian culture. Particular attention is paid to the concept of the “two Russias” and the possibilities for cooperation on the basis of Christian ethics and equality. The publication includes an appendix: “God’s Hatred” (on the foundations of CPSU atheism).

Demkovych-Dobryanskyi Mykhailo (1905–2003)

Prominent Ukrainian public figure, journalist, historian, and publicist. He was a member of UNDO, editor of the journal “Ukrainski Visti” (Germany), and headed the Ukrainian editorial board of Radio Free Europe in Munich. His works are distinguished by deep analysis of political processes and a European orientation of thought.

Kalynets Ihor Myronovych (b. 1939 - 2025)

Prominent Ukrainian poet and prose writer, one of the leading representatives of the Sixtiers movement, and a political prisoner of Soviet camps. Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine named after T. Shevchenko. This copy is dedicated to him.
