Published in a light green softcover with a leather-like texture: the title is printed on the front cover, while the back cover is plain. The cover is slightly soiled, with small dark spots on both sides and worn edges. The paper is evenly yellowed, with occasional stains on the title page and edges. Bright green endpapers precede the title pages of the sections “The Ukrainian Main Liberation Council” and “The Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations.” The numbers 148, 149, and 245 have been handwritten in the tables of contents. Condition: good.

The collection reproduces programmatic, organizational, and propaganda documents of the OUN, UPA, UGV, and ABN from 1929–1956 and is of historical and cultural value as a source on the history of the Ukrainian liberation movement.

Photolithographic reprint of four documentary collections by the Foreign Units of the OUN, published abroad in 1955–1957: on the OUN, UPA, Ukrainian Main Liberation Council, and Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations. In this book, they are collected together.

The section on the OUN opens with the resolutions of the Great Assembly, which took place from January 28 to February 2, 1929, and covers documents of the struggle from 1929–1955. The UPA materials contain articles on the army’s organizational structure, partisan tactics, raids, the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross, and the role of women in the liberation movement, as well as appeals by the UPA to the peoples of the Caucasus, Central Asia, and the Volga region, to Russians, Belarusians, and Red Army soldiers. The UGV section presents documents from 1944–1950. The ABN section covers 1941–1956: from the “Our Front” bulletin and the 1943 Conference of Enslaved Nations to the ABN congresses of 1946 and 1948 and the Congress of the ABN Youth Front.

The publishers’ preface is dated November 1, 1989. The book was published in Toronto by the Studium Research Institute at the expense of the Organizations of the Ukrainian Liberation Front in Edmonton; it was distributed by the Ukrainian Central Information Service (UCIS), which had offices in London, New York, Toronto, Munich, Brussels, and Paris. The original editions belonged to the “Ukrainian Underground Library” series (Part 1 — OUN, Part 3 — UGV, Part 4 — ABN); the first editions were published by the Foreign Units of the OUN.
